Campus wide renovation of six separate buildings to meet the multi-functional needs of Berlex, a research facility - electrical and lighting design.
Included wet laboratories for chemistry, biochemistry, and biophysics; a vivarium; a computer services/worldwide telecommunications hub; a library; a cafeteria; and administrative/marketing office space.
Randall Lamb's designs provided a combination of utility incentives and energy savings. The result was an improved lighting system with more than double the previous illumination, and a reduction in energy consumption which saves the client approximately $15,000 a year.
Phased design and construction allowed partial occupation of the space, and 40% of the materials used were pre-existing, resulting in a large savings for our client.
