What’s your current position at Randall Lamb?
Principal Mechanical Engineer, San Francisco
Who would you consider your role model?
My dad was my first role model and continues to be to this day. While I always admired his strength and his determination to manifest his dreams and hopes in the world, and his seemingly boundless energy and work ethic, what truly has stuck with me was how he dealt with failure and struggle. In situations that seemed heartbreaking and soul-crushing, when he was really knocked into the dirt, he would get back up, laugh about it, and keep moving forward with the same enthusiasm. I aim to model that strength, determination and perseverance for myself.
What do you like best about your chosen field?
I have many interests and believe in balance in all things in life, and engineering and consulting in the construction industry provides me with a breadth of life experiences that keep it fresh and rewarding. I like designing systems, I like collaboration with co-workers and clients, and I like to go to the job site and see the physical manifestation of the team’s careful planning.
What is your favorite pastime?
I am so fortunate to live in a place with such natural beauty, and I can’t think of anything that brings me more contentment and relaxation than going for a long bike ride or a run in the hills on a sunny day, ideally followed by a burger, milkshake, and possibly a nap.
