The
Fleet Combat Training Center is a vital component for the
US Navy and is comprised of various multi-function buildings.
An energy audit was performed to upgrade mechanical and electrical
systems throughout the complex and Randall Lamb provided the
engineering services for the infrastructure upgrade. |

Randall
Lamb's mechanical design included consolidating the chilled
water production to one central location, then distributing
the chilled water to the various buildings based on their
individual demand. The system consisted of chiller equipment,
cooling towers, variable flow water pumps and monitoring control
equipment. |

This
project was funded based on future performance-based energy
savings. Randall Lamb's knowledge and experience in chilled
water distribution systems proved invaluable in strategically
connecting each facility system to minimize disruption of
service, retrofit costs, pumping and chiller operating costs,
and maintenance costs of the open condenser water system.
The design team arranged the system to allow easy verification
of energy savings. |
