170,000 sq ft on 48 acres in the Grossmont Union High School District.
The District's plans for this new high school were to incorporate emerging technologies and their resulting application to industry into the design of the school. As a result, the design yielded the District's first school to provide computers in every classroom and several specialized spaces that include applied technology labs, computerized physics lab, faculty computer lab, student computer labs, computer-aided design (CAD) lab, automated assembly shop, media center, and television broadcast studio.
The school also contains administration offices, gymnasium (suitable for District-wide, in-service training), auditorium, adult education facility with child care center, food service, concession stands, maintenance facility, tennis courts, parking lots, roadways, pathways, and sports fields.
We participated in the local utility company energy rebate program, State energy rebate program, and the new State emerging technologies program. Our involvement in these programs helped ensure the District would receive over $2 million in credits and rebates to help fund this facility. We applied our engineering expertise to offer cost-effective solutions that outperform traditional design standards.
