The project includes a 100,000 sq ft campus services building for engineering offices, a post office, a mail handling facility, and various campus support facilities; a 25,000 sq ft shops building; a 6,500 sq ft grounds building and central garage; a 16,000 sq ft hazardous materials handling facility; and a 30,000 sq ft biology field station and greenhouse. Design included the utility infrastructure to serve the new complex of operations buildings and yards. A new 12 kV underground distribution system and communications ductbank were designed for easy service extensions to each future building with minimal expense or disruption of service. The project required some hazardous occupancy location classifications.
