Our History
Randall Lamb has been providing successful consulting and engineering services since 1974, when the firm opened up its first office in San Diego. In order to serve an expanding client base throughout the west coast, the firm established an additional office in San Francisco in 1986. Randall Lamb celebrates 35 years of innovative, functional and sustainable design solutions in mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) and architectural lighting design for the following markets: Healthcare, science and technology, government, education, commercial, hospitality and telecommunications/mission critical.
Our Responsibility
Sustainable Design
As engineering consultants, we have an ongoing responsibility to look for energy efficient solutions in our engineering and lighting design services. We have an outstanding portfolio in MEP design and are guided by the need to create sustainable and environmentally responsible designs, in concert with architectural and construction teams. As members of the U.S. Green Building Council, we incorporate sustainable building design standards and currently have seventeen (17) LEED™ Accredited Professionals who understand the additional responsibilities incurred with a LEED™ project and share that enthusiasm and commitment with the team. We are skilled in creating systems that optimize performance.
Our Special Services
Clean Energy
In response to the pending state and federal requirements to comply with environmental policies and laws addressing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, Randall Lamb has developed a Clean Energy Program. We analyze both the economic and environmental impact of providing low carbon emission energy generation techniques that will meet current and planned electrical and thermal loads - while at the same time - position an owner to meet and exceed the carbon emission caps being established by the state.
Architectural Lighting Design
We approach our lighting design projects as collaboration between technical engineering and creative aesthetics. Whether a project is weighted toward increased efficiency with lower energy consumption and ease of maintenance - or a specific visual impact - our primary goal is to enhance the experience of living through lighting.
Design/Build
We embrace the design/build methodology. Our experience with the process includes projects in the healthcare, science and technology, commercial, government and military sectors. Our engineers get on board early to anticipate opportunities in design, time and cost savings. We strive to design innovative and reliable solutions that provide the most value for each dollar spent.
